The Seven Youth Inquest began from the tragic loss of seven of our youth who had to leave their communities to continue their education. As a result of the Inquest, 145 recommendations on safety, support, timely funding, programs, and policies were given to government, Tribal Councils, and partners. By understanding the history of what happened, the present work and implementation of the recommendations, and the future journey for our youth, we can all work together to prevent further tragedies.

The Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Continuity of Care Forum will share the past, present, and future of the Seven Youth Inquest. This year’s theme The CAREfull Journey Ahead focuses on how we move forward to create a path full of care for our youth. This continuous journey requires us to maintain the Continuity of Care for youth travelling out of their communities for their education. All those interested in this continuity for our youth are welcome.
